Seek Ye First....................

Yesterday went by in a blur as we had our second day of camp. English classes are starting to fall into place as our kids get used to their students and the materials. The Dominicans are actually learning English! They have a unique ability to learn via auditory means, since they are limited in visual aids, books and writing materials. Our teachers are doing a fantastic job at adapting to the situations that arise, which is wonderful training for real life!

Our craft time was painting T-shirts, and we discovered some of these village kids have real talent. The shirts turned out beautiful for the most part with the scripture verses and artwork, and many are testimony to God's working this week. Our group is developing a love for the kids under their care, and sweet relationships are forming as the teen girls are opening up to our young ladies, and the guys here are seeing strong leadership in our young men. Every one of our team members is walking worthy of the One who called them.

We had fun again in music class and in recreation time, where they got to play American Football & blanket volleyball. The guys football skit after supper had folks rolling in the aisles, as we showed then that Christians can have good clean fun!! We had special music and then went into the preaching time.

David & Justin have a real burden for souls here, and their messages have been spirit-led and fervent. We have begun to see some fruit as young people are beginning to "crack" their hard shells, with confession & repentance -- not a lot, but a glimmer of hope. There have been no salvation decisions yet that we are aware of, but the gospel has been made clear repeatedly, and they will be held accountable.

Mason got to preach today at morning chapel!! He was as cool and confidant as could be, and clearly laid out God's Word and how we are told to love the Lord with all our heart, soul & might. We were privileged to have one more of our young men standing in the pulpit. One of the mission board members was there and is highly impressed with the calibur of kids that are here serving. The missionary's wife said she wanted to meet the pastor of our church, where these kids have grown up. It is indeed unusual in her estimation to have so many seriously devoted young people.

We look forward to the rest of today plus two more days of camp, and more opportunities to share.
